RoxyRara was founded in 2012 by Roxanne Saili, a professionally trained actress whose unexpected love of baking began during her final year at drama school. While preparing for the lead role in Dolly West’s Kitchen, Roxanne was encouraged to get comfortable in a real kitchen, so she baked her very first batch of cookies. The response from her castmates was overwhelming, and that single moment ignited a lifelong passion.
Between acting jobs, she began baking for friends, family, and colleagues, eventually creating a standout handbag-shaped cake that caught the eye of her boss, who commissioned her to make his wedding cake. That cake, along with back-to-back auditions for The Great British Bake Off (where she reached the final 24 contestants two years in a row), gave her the confidence to launch her own business from her small kitchen in Dalston, East London.
Meet Roxy

Since then, RoxyRara has grown into a boutique cake company known for bold, characterful cupcakes and jaw-dropping illusion cakes. Roxanne’s work has attracted attention from major media and brands, including custom cake commissions for Netflix, ITV, and corporate clients across London. She has also appeared on Manoto TV, featured in baking videos for The Telegraph, and collaborated on digital content for lifestyle and food media.
Today, RoxyRara is proudly run by Roxanne and her husband Armin, who manages the market stalls and operations. After relocating to Northamptonshire to focus on sustainable growth and family life, the business continues to thrive, one show-stopping cake at a time.
From a drama school kitchen to national clients and creative commissions, RoxyRara is a love story baked into every slice.
